Who We Are

Startup House is more than a coworking space. It is an industrial-style, urban workspace where startups, entrepreneurs and businesses connect, work and grow. As part of the Lumia umbrella brand, Startup House brings together coworking, event spaces, and services into one ecosystem at the heart of Vienna.

The Startup House Story

Every community starts with a story. Startup House was founded in 2023 by Manuel Gahn, founder of the social fitness network startup cheerin, to offer startups, founders and entrepreneurs in Vienna more than desks and offices. The idea was to create a place built for collaboration, networking and growth — where ideas evolve into companies and teams can truly thrive. This vision brought new life into a 160-year-old building that used to be a storage facility of the Austrian Red Cross, and is today is known as Startup House. Today, our team comprises of 10 young, fun, and international talents eager to make your work day the best it could be.

Startup House sits beside a small lake in Vienna’s greenest district — a calm, natural setting that shapes the experience of working here. With the Prater’s trails just steps away and U2 Krieau a four-minute walk from the door, the atmosphere is quiet yet fully connected. Cafés, shops, a gym and the nearby Trabrennbahn complete a neighborhood that feels both relaxed and energizing. The area around Startup House is part of a car-free city section, members still benefit from a dedicated garage 1 minute away, for both cars and bicycles.
